Q1: Are plastic pallets exempt from
all international export/import laws that are currently affecting
wood palletst?
A: Yes
Q2:
What is the difference between a static load and a dynamic
load?
A: A static load refers to the pallets being in an immobile
position; in other words, just sitting on the ground stacked.
Dynamic load refers to actually lifting the pallets. For example;
the pallets are loaded onto a fork truck which distributes
more gravitational weight onto the pallet. This is why the
dynamic weight load is always less than the static.
Q3:
How is plastic more cost effective than wood?
A: • Plastic pallets are more durable and can be reused
• Recyclable
• Can be sold for cash after use is broken or damaged
• Save a great deal of space due to their stacking quality
• Cheaper to ship- domestically and internationally
Q4:
Can plastic pallets withstand extreme weather conditions?
A: Yes, unlike wood, plastic can handle the coldest of temperatures
and will not be brittle due to the circumstances. Most plastic
can handle extremely hot temperatures, as well.
Q5:
Are plastic pallets chemical resistant?
A: Yes. Since most pallets are made from HDPE, this particular
material has chemical resistance which helps avoid any unwanted
contamination.
Q6:
Are plastic pallets that much more hygienic than wood?
A: Yes. They are easy to clean with solvents, steam, or water
and are not subject for bacteria which is detrimental for
the agricultural, pharmaceutical and food businesses who uses
the pallets. They do not absorb water and are impervious to
acids, fats and solvents.
Q7:
What does rackable mean?
A: A rackable pallet is one that can support a load using
only 2 edges of the pallet. This is sometimes referred to
as an edge rack. |
